Abstract
Both Ghalib and Iqbal are eminent critics of Urdu. Both are creators of their own styles and creators of their own language. They have immense powers of creativity and innovation. Both of them have a philosophical way of thinking. Both of them gave a new twist to our poetry by popularizing progressive trends in literature. Both Ghalib and Iqbal had objectivity and there is a difference between them, only that Iqbal's objectivity is disciplined and wise and Ghalib's objectivity is only playful and poetic. Allama Iqbal's poem "Mirza Ghalib" was first published in magazine "Makhzn" Lahore in September 1901. Ghalib is also mentioned or referred to in Urdu and Persian literature after Iqbal.
