Abstract

Every humain being is an embodiment of social relationships. An individual participates in society and makes his contribution to the social life as a whole. It is the nature of man that he should support each other in his woldly affairs in the society in which he lives. Sometimes differences of opinions and disagreement occur with each other. For resolving these issues, the Sharia of Islam suggests that people should take their cases to an authoritative person who can remove these differences between them, they should present their defendant to someone so that there is no turn of fighting.  It can also be a judge or an influential person of the area who can give the rights of the oppressed while performing the duties of arbitration. The one who fulfills this duty of mediation or arbitration is called Tahkeem in Arabic. Shariat Islam has laid down some rules and regulation while establishing Tahkeem so that someone can be made an arbitrator in the light of these rules.By reading this articale, it wiil be known that what is the meaning of tahkemm, its order, and what is the status of this legitimacy.
