Abstract

Shamsur Rahman Farooqui is known as a well-known poet, writer, critic, teacher, intellectual, translator and journalist in the literary world. He is a resident of Ria Par, Azamgarh district (now Mayo district). He was born on 30 September 1935. Kala Kankar House took place in Pratapgarh (UP).


Shamsur Rahman Farooqui's novel "Kai Chand Thaye Sar-e Asmaan" presents pictures of civilization and culture disappearing in the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, while in Dr. Ahsan Farooqui's novel "Sham-i Oudh" the cultural traditions of Lucknow, especially Oudh, are presented. The last period of the decline of traditions is described. Overall, both novels seem to present the historical and cultural decline of the last period of Indo-Islamic civilization and culture.
