Abstract

Today, we see many confrontations with heritage sites, including some elements of threat and change resulting from development projects that could negatively affect these sites, it is necessary to learn about the assessment of impacts and potential environmental impacts before we take any decisions about development projects, In order to mitigate the harm of these possible effects on the environment and heritage, it is necessary to plan and find means to mitigate their harmful effects and strive to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and the implementation of the project to suit the local and global environment. What is the concept of impact assessment on heritage, its importance, and objectives, and what are the goals of sustainable development? To address these questions, the research was divided into an introduction, preface, four sections, and a conclusion, and the inductive method was used. The preface includes two requirements: the first requirement is the definition of impact assessment on heritage language and idiomatically, the second requirement is the definition of sustainable development language and idiomatically, the first topic: the importance of assessing the impact on heritage, the second topic is the objectives of assessing the impact on heritage, and the third topic includes steps to assess the impact on heritage, And in the fourth topic: sustainable development goals. The research reached several results, including: The urgent need for the process of assessing the impact on heritage in light of what we are witnessing today in terms of the effects of rapid changes in the world, and that heritage is of great importance to society, and we must cooperate to ensure that heritage is protected and that it is transmitted to future generations in the best possible condition. One of the results is the need to maintain sustainable development and strive to achieve its goals that seek to address global challenges, including challenges related to poverty, inequality, environmental degradation, peace and justice.
