Abstract

The praise of the beloved has been a favorite subject of poetry of all times. Poets combine the folds of heaven and earth to describe the over all beauty of their beloved. In literature praise the beauty of beloved is called sirapa nigari. Even a poet cannot be found who has not described Sarapaye Yar in any way. A study of the words of Sheikh Ibrahim Zauq also testifies that he has crushed Sarapaye Mehboob very carefully. He describes his beloved's hair, forehead, eyes, cheeks, gait, height and delicacy with great pleasure, but it shows a certain posture and sobriety. He does not leave the foot step of moderation anywhere. He sometimes uses similes and sometimes uses metaphors to create charm. His symbols and allusions also play an important role in this context. Because of these qualities, Zauq is considered not only an important poet of Dabbistan Delhi. He also holds a key position in the overall tradition of Urdu ghazal.
